Ibrahim Osman: I want to bang in goals!

New signing joined Albion on a five-year contract.

Ibrahim Osman has spoken about what Albion fans can expect from him and his route to the Premier League.
Ibrahim, how happy are you to be a Brighton & Hove Albion player?
Response: “It’s a dream come true as a young guy to be in a new country, in a new team, new environment. I am happy to be here.”
How would you describe yourself as a player?
Response: “I’m a type of player who is direct and ambitious for goals.”
How do you reflect on your season in Denmark?
Response:“It was really good and I had happy moments there, playing with different and amazing types of people. It was really good for me.”
Albion signed you earlier this year. What was it like when they came in for you?
Response:“There were a lot of teams who wanted me, but when Brighton came, I was like, ‘yes, this is the type of team I want to play in’. The style of play, they also play younger players.”
Ibrahim Osman is hoping to show off a couple of his celebrations, having scored ten goals last season.
You know Simon Adingra from the Right to Dream Academy in Ghana. Did you speak to him about coming here?
Response:“I spoke to him a bit. Firstly, he tried to give me some advice, even the style of play, it is similar to FC Nordsjaelland. He just told me to just be the same as I was there.”
How much of an inspiration is Simon to you because he’s done so well here?
Response:“He has really inspired me. The few weeks during the AFCON and even playing weekly in the Premier League. If he can do that, then I’m happy. I’m also sure I can do the same.”
Simon is one of a number of great wingers that we have at this football club, in addition to the likes of Kaoru Mitoma and Solly March. How hard are you going to have to work to get into the team ahead of those guys?
Response:“My focus is to try and learn as much as possible in this squad and also with the older guys here to try and learn from them. And also I know myself, I don’t depend on one position. I can play as a right winger, up front and on the left wing, so I’m happy I can play all these positions.”
Do you have a preference between the right and the left?
Response:“I like all. I can play all, which is an advantage for me too.”
We’ve discussed your qualities, but what would you say you want to improve on the most this season?
Response:“Now, I just want to try and learn more. The style of play and the way the coaches wants me to play.”
You’ve worked with Fabian Hurzeler for a couple of days now. How have his sessions been?
Response:“The intensity is so high. It requires more and demands more of the player.”
A lot has been made of how young he is. But when you’re on the training pitch, is he just like any other coach?
Response:“He’s like any other coach, trying to give instructions to the players, I am trying to learn from him as much as possible.”
Ibrahim Osman signed for the club after a season with FC Nodsjaelland in Denmark.
Is he emotional?
Response:“Sometimes, yes. He just wants you to go 100 per cent. I think every coach is emotional. He just wants you to get the best out of you.”
What do you hope you’ll achieve this coming season?
Response:“My dream is playing every week, banging in goals, being the main guy!”
How excited are you to play at the Amex?
Response:“I can’t wait to play on one of the best pitches in the Premier League. It’s a dream come true to have the chance to play there.”
There will be over 30,000 people watching you every week. How’s that going to be?
Response:“Exciting, although it’s not my first time playing in a big stadium with lots of people. It’s going to be an exciting moment.”
